I don’t care who reads this anymore. After twenty years of service, I need to document what I’ve discovered. What’s really been happening in this city.
It all connects. Every unsolved case where we blamed the victim. Every “killer” who vanished. We’ve been hunting the wrong thing.
The [Redacted] case broke it open for me. Like all the others – victim mutilated, “Heretic” carved into flesh, evidence pointing to them as killer. But the evidence was wrong. Too clean. Too perfect. Like it was placed there deliberately.
I’ve gone through the archives. Found cases back to the city’s founding. Same pattern. Same word carved. Same perfect frame-ups. Something’s been hunting here for centuries.
I saw it last week. The proportions were wrong. Colors shifted like oil on water. Those ribs… God, those exposed ribs. I thought I was hallucinating.
Then it started communicating. Morse code. Tapping outside my house at night. It knows I know. It wants me to know it’s watching.
My partner thinks I’ve cracked. Chief wants me to take leave. But they haven’t seen what I’ve seen. Haven’t found the pattern. This thing – it’s not killing from need. It’s killing for pleasure.
I know filing this ends my career. But someone needs to know. Someone needs to understand what’s really been hunting us all this time.
